Become a Virtual Activist!
Campaign
for Global March, become a virtual activist.
There
are loads of things you can do by helping us
from your home or workplace. Here is a very
short list of practical suggestions about how
you can become a part of this global movement
against child labour and for education.
1.
As a worldwide movement with members in over
140 countries, we are always looking for good
translators in Spanish and French. If you know,
any of these languages (can speak and write),
you can become a part of our pool of translators.
2. If you are an avid net surfer, you can help
contribute to our e-newsletter, CLNS. Search
for child labour news across the world and submit
it to us. We will try to incorporate the relevant
articles.
3. You are great at writing and would like to
contribute… write an article for the CLNS
and we will publish
4. Keep visiting this section to check out how
you can become one-minute activist.
If the above appeal to you, get in touch with
us at info@globalmarch.org

Volunteer
My time as a volunteer at Global March Against Child Labour International Secretariat in Delhi has been an amazing experience. Faced with a myriad of decisions after my graduation from university, I found myself searching for an engaging and meaningful experience that would give me the skills and knowledge I needed to work in the nonprofit sector and serve my interest in human rights. Through volunteering at Global March I received this and much more. The valuable opportunity I have been given has informed me on the inner workings of a global NGO, helped affirm my future career goals, and motivated me beyond measure as an advocate of child rights. I have learned much about the issues of child exploitation, bonded labour and trafficking, and the necessity of access to free and compulsory education. Always surrounded by dedicated people who are kind and incredibly hardworking individuals, fiercely passionate about their cause, I have been energised by their diligence and compassion. Their infectious spirit is infused in the dynamic and supportive work environment; you never doubt for even a moment that the eradication of child labour and the creation of education for all are anything but possible.

There
is a lot to be done to help children move “from
exploitation to education”, and help is
always welcome.
Global
March International Secretariat is based in New
Delhi, and we have volunteering opportunities
for those who are interested in helping us out
in the office and, occassionally, in the field.
In order to volunteer at the office, you must
be in possession of a valid Indian Working permit.
The availability of volunteer opportunities at
the office varies depending on availability of
staff and resources.
If
you would like to volunteer at our office you
need to send an email to info@globalmarch.org,
with a copy of your resume, letting us know which
department you would like to volunteer in and
what times you would be available. We encourage
volunteers to stay with us for a minimum of six
months, to have a mutually beneficial relationship.
If
you would like to volunteer at any of our partners
offices, you need to contact them and enquire
there as to what opportunities that office may
have for you. You can find contact information
for all of our partners world-wide at: http://www.globalmarch.org/ourpartners/index.php
You
can also take action with us via your computer
by signing up as a virtual activist. We'll send
you free information about what you can do to
help make a change for the children.
Please
check Jobs@GMIS
to see if any volunteer positions are currently
advertised at Global March International Secretariat. |
