Nominate the "Activist of the Month"
 

Every month we feature an activist (involving our national coordinators, the regional coordinators and other interested individuals) on our website, based on some key points like creativity, innovation and awareness generation among the people.

We invite contributions from activists and organisations describing their achievements and pioneering deeds on issues concerning child labour and education, and be awarded with a certificate of honour from the Global March Against Child Labour, the largest worldwide civil society initiative against economic exploitation of children.

Aim of the Award

This section aims to meet the following criteria:

  • To illustrate the initiatives of the activists of Global March and its partners showing their leadership skills and innovative ideas through different activities on child labour eradication and education for all.
  • To feature the success stories and the dynamism of organisations in grassroots' services in the concerned issues, especially in remote areas where the government and other development organisations find hard to reach. In this way we aim to publicise the organisational activities and enhance global awareness leading to active involvement in child labour and other related issues

Submission guidelines

The ‘Activist of the Month’ focuses on the following issues:

  • Child labour eradication/elimination of the worst forms of child labour
  • Child rights
  • Child participation in law and policy-making
  • Children’s parliament or children’s forum to combat issues affecting their growth,
    development and future
  • Education for All

For sending articles on activists, do keep in mind to send the following:

  • a short profile of the person
  • his past achievements and struggle leading to the making of an activist
  • his present accomplishments
  • future dreams and aspirations

For organisations featuring their grassroots activities, it should have the following information:

  • about the organisation
  • it’s aims and objectives
  • it’s contribution or accomplishment in the concerned issues
  • obstacles faced (if any)
  • if you want to feature any activist of the organisation, then please provide his role in the accomplishment
  • future plans or projects to combat the issue

The articles should not be more than 500-2500 words accompanied by photographs of the activist or the activities of the concerned organisation.

Your photographs’ width should be no larger than 600 pixels, and they should be in JPEG format- high quality. We prefer to receive photos as scanned attachments; however if you don’t have access to a scanner, you can send the photos to us by a regular mail.
